The Holidays & Work Balance | Social Media Management | The 530 and Co.

How are the holidays already here? We will never truly know why time goes so quickly, but we do know, is that life doesn’t just take a pause, even with the excitement and joyous celebrations we are all attending every weekend.

As an entrepreneur, sometimes, work doesn’t end. We also can never truly take a vacation without worrying every two seconds. Did that post go up, did that blog get published, did I send that email? The list goes on and on, and we’re here to help you manage the holiday season while running a business.

This is also for those who don’t own businesses, but who are SLAMMED at the end of the year.

  1. Outsource.
I’ll say it again and again, outsourcing is going to be your best friend, even if it’s just for the end and beginning of the year to help you get things accomplished. Whether you have deadlines, or need to sell a product quickly, outsourcing for social media work is going to be your best friend. Thankfully, we charge month to month, so if you feel as though you can manage as we are further into the new year, then let’s say our goodbyes! Outsourcing can be exciting. Whether it’s to create social media content, or to have a virtual assistant send a few emails a week - anything helps. I even outsource for a few things I can never get to in a month… that’s saying something, no?

  2. Manage Your Time.
This is a HUGE skill that many people struggle with, even me. When it comes to deadlines, even when I was in college, i’d wait until the very last minute to do my work. Did it come out as good as it would if I had started a month prior? Probably not… so my point is, manage your time. Set aside the tasks that don’t seem to be a priority. Divide your day up in sections, and you’ll see a HUGE improvement.

  3. Forget About The Holidays.
At work that is… don’t worry about the holidays when you’re at your desk working. Worry about them when you get home and when you can pour yourself a glass of wine. Trust me, wine makes everything better when thinking about gifts, coordinating dinners, etc. This way, you can focus on the tasks at hand at work, and figure out the holiday drama later in the evening when your work is done! These tips are obviously easier said than done… but we should at least try to implement them!

  4. Ask For Help.
This kind of goes hand in hand with outsourcing, but on a deeper level. Feeling discouraged? Grab a drink or a coffee with a friend. Take a break. Breathe & let go. You’ll do your best work when you’re rested and feeling inspired, so don’t push it. Don’t force it.

Overall, the moral of the story is - you should outsource during this time of year. Whether it’s to get your social media posts posted, that blog post published, or that email sent on time… don’t expect to do it all.

We hope to hear from you soon!
